1. Why do we have so much information about ancient Greek theater? 

- 30 greek Tragedy, 12/14 greek comedies

-Ancient sources talk about funding, politics

-Building remains of theater

2. How was theater a competition? 

-Each play sponsored by rich man , when jury picks best play and you win, your playwrite would be written on the walls of the theater. 

3. What are the three types of Greek theater?

-Comedy : Dirty/ugly masks, low class characters which are funny

-Tragedy : Beautiful characters

-Sata plays : Mythical best where based on rude comedy plays

4. Where was traditional Greek theater performed? 

-Outside Church walls

5. Why did the Greek's use masks? 

-Because it was a religious ritual, and the mask show its worshiping god. Also enabled you to change characters. 

6. What was the purpose of the Greek Chorus? 

- One Reason : Very fun 

-Second Reason : Showed perspective of the community and displays current politics.
