What causes a Water Related Disease

These are some factors that cause water disease or produce the beginnings of a water disease.

Infected water: Germs in the water make it unsafe for people to drink out of the water. Some lakes were people get there drinking water is also used as a toilet, or as a bath so it is very unhygienic for humans to drink out of those lakes.

Pollution: Pollution from large farms and factories can spoil people’s water supply making it unsafe to drink out of because of the chemicals and toxic smoke being produced from the pollution.

Dams: Big dams are built on rivers all around the world. Sometimes people who live along the river from the dam are left with much less water to use. If their homes are behind the dam they may be flooded out. Then they are forced to move to drier areas.

Tourism and trade: Some parts in the world which are located near a lake are built into a hotel for tourist, the hotel uses all the water for the toilet, or for drinking leaving a limited amount of water behind for the locals.

Wars:. Weapons hurt and kill people and animals, but they can destroy water supplies too. Furthermore Wars may force people to move away to where water is scarce.

Drought  :When there is no rain and everything makes dried out it is called a 'drought'. Drought can leave people with major water shortages. They poor are the first to suffer since they don’t have stores of food and water to keep them going, nor the money to buy more water or storage place for their water.
